Diageo's World Class Awards 3D Printed

At Fluxaxis we are proud to have 3D printed the winning awards for Diageo's recent global cocktail competition World Class Bartender of the Year 2017 through our specialist 3D printing bureau service.

As well the main award for overall winner, Kaitlyn Stewart, we also produced five smaller awards for other competition categories. Each award comprised four 3D printed parts, which were separately finished and painted before being bonded together with adhesive.

Our Hewlett Packard Multi Jet Fusion 4200 came into its own for this project, providing fine detail in quick time for this prestigious event.

We achieved the fine black lettering on the white painted plaques by manipulating our client's 3D file using Autodesk Inventor to raise the letters so we could then abrade the top surface of the 3D printed letters to give them a black finish to contrast with the white painted background.

The filigree structure of the award and the cocktail glass within it were each given a different finish by our in-house paint workshop - metallic copper for the lattice and high gloss black for the cocktail glass.

Our 3D printing bureau service offers a unique combination of 3D printing technologies, coupled with design and making skills, and our in-house finishing department so don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like our help.
